Little Alphas:delivering a Primary School Digital Technology

Integrating robotics into school curriculums

At Little Alphas Robotics, we are dedicated to delivering a Primary School Digital Technology Program that aligns seamlessly with the Australian Curriculum: Digital Technologies. Our mission is to empower students and teachers by providing access to high-quality resources and hands-on learning experiences, fostering the skills needed to thrive in the rapidly evolving world of STEM.

Our Program

Designed for Australian public schools, our program supports the integration of key elements of the Australian Digital Technologies Curriculum. Students and teachers engage with cutting-edge educational tools that align with curriculum goals, focusing on:

  • Lego Education WeDo 2.0: Building and programming simple robots to explore core concepts in STEM.
  • Lego Education Spike Prime: Developing advanced coding, design, and engineering skills.
  • Scratch Coding: Introducing visual programming to teach algorithms, problem-solving, and creativity.

Meeting the Australian Curriculum

Our program addresses the following key learning outcomes from the Australian Digital Technologies Curriculum:

  1. ACTDIK007 & ACTDIK023: Exploring and describing digital systems (hardware and software) and their use in transmitting and processing data.
  2. ACTDIP003: Collecting, organizing, and presenting data using digital systems in creative ways.
  3. ACTDIP010: Defining and solving problems by creating and following algorithms involving branching and decision-making.
  4. ACTDIP016: Designing and implementing digital solutions using visual programming tools like Scratch.

By aligning with these outcomes, our program ensures that students not only meet but exceed national curriculum standards.

Access to Premium Resources

Many schools face barriers to accessing premium STEM resources. Little Alphas Robotics bridges this gap by offering resources like Lego Education WeDo 2.0 and Lego Spike Prime, which are often unavailable to schools due to cost. Our program ensures that students and teachers can benefit from these advanced tools, enabling hands-on learning experiences that inspire curiosity and innovation.

Digital Technologies: Data, robots and computational thinking

Our courses and programs are designed to prepare you  to implement this activity, materials and equipment that will allow students to identify and practically apply Australian Curriculum: Digital Technologies key concepts, key ideas and related ways of thinking are required

Empowering Students and Teachers

We provide the resources and support needed to unlock potential in students and educators alike:

  • For Students:
    • Hands-on experience with world-class robotics kits.
    • Development of critical thinking, creativity, and problem-solving skills.
    • A deeper understanding of real-world STEM applications.
  • For Teachers:
    • Professional development sessions to confidently implement digital technologies in the classroom.
    • Tailored lesson plans aligned with the Australian Curriculum.
    • Ongoing support to integrate resources and promote sustainable teaching practices.

Building Australia’s STEM Future

By participating in our program, schools contribute to building a stronger STEM foundation for future generations. Together, we aim to:

  • Cultivate the next generation of Australian innovators and leaders.
  • Equip students with skills to adapt and excel in a technology-driven world.
  • Foster enthusiasm for science and technology through engaging, hands-on activities.
